Lockerbie Academy Achieves Silver LGBT Charter Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Lockerbie Academy on achieving the Silver LGBT Charter Award from LGBT Youth Scotland; believes that this is a significant achievement that reflects the school’s commitment to LGBT inclusion; understands that the Charter Award programme supports schools to undertake staff training, review policies, practices and resources, and embed inclusion at the very heart of school life; considers that the silver award demonstrates that Lockerbie Academy is going beyond meeting legislative requirements to proactively create a learning environment where LGBT young people, staff, parents and the wider community feel safe, supported and included, and commends the hard work and dedication of the pupils and staff in securing this prestigious recognition.
