Water Safety Open Day 2025 Loch Lomond Shores
The motion
That the Parliament commends Water Safety Scotland (WSS) on planning to host the Water Safety Open Day 2025 at Loch Lomond Shores on 25 July for the second year in a row; notes that the event is held in support of World Drowning Prevention Day; acknowledges that the event will focus on the safe use of Scotland’s waters while also educating the public on the risks and dangers that are posed by water; understands that the event will raise awareness of risks and water safety, provide search and rescue demonstrations, and highlight the benefit of swimming lessons and what it sees as the importance of consistent education from nursery to high school; further understands that the event will include live action educational shows; appreciates the organisations that will support the event by showcasing their individual skills and make the event engaging and informative for visitors; recognises the effort put in by the entire WSS team and partners to bring what it considers to be a crucial national event to Loch Lomond shores, and looks forward to what it hopes will be another successful event.
