The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges World Sepsis Day on 13 September 2025, which aims tohighlight awareness of sepsis, as well as fundraise; understands that sepsisarises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues andorgans, which may lead to shock, multi-organ failure and death, particularly ifnot recognised early and treated promptly; notes that the day hopes to increasepublic awareness and show support for people who have lost loved ones, or aresepsis survivors, and understands that the UK Sepsis Trust has joined forceswith St Andrew's First Aid to raise awareness of sepsis in Scotland byproviding the Scottish charity with literature encouraging people to "Justask: could it be sepsis?", as well as Z-cards showing the symptoms in bothadults and children.
