Recognising Anna Rutherford

That the Parliament congratulates Peebles resident, Anna Rutherford, on winning the inaugural Rat Race ultra-marathon from Bamburgh Castle to Edinburgh Castle; believes that Anna completed the gruelling 100-mile course in an extraordinary time of 17 hours and 23 minutes, finishing over two hours ahead of the next competitor; acknowledges Anna’s previous record-setting run on the Southern Upland Way and her continued success in ultra-distance events; celebrates her determination and resilience, and recognises Anna as an inspiration to women and runners across South Scotland.
