50th Anniversary of BBC Scotland's Sportscene
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates 50 years of BBC Scotland's Sportscene; recognises that the programme first broadcast on 9 August 1975 on BBC One Scotland; notes that Sportscene now provides content on BBC One Scotland, the BBC Scotland channel, BBC iPlayer and online; understands that the programme brings the big games and the big names from across men's and women's Scottish football, providing news, highlights, analysis and action; welcomes the range of coverage that the programme offers, including Scottish Championship football, Scottish Cup finals for men, women and youth football, international matches for Scotland’s men and women’s national teams, the Scottish Women’s Premier League and Scottish Premiership highlights; recognises what it sees as the importance of Scotland’s international matches now being available to view free-to-air on the BBC; acknowledges the contribution that it believes the programme has made to Scottish football, and wishes BBC Scotland's Sportscene continued success bringing audiences together.
