ArtsD&G Relaunch New Vision for Dumfries and Galloway
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates ArtsD&G on its relaunch; notes that ArtsD&G was formally known as the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival; believes that the new name, ArtsD&G, will see a shift from a traditional festival to an ongoing cultural movement; understands that the new year-round events programme aims to capture theatre, dance, music, comedy, spoken word and performances; believes that the rebranding denotes a brave step forward for creativity in Dumfries and Galloway, which will provide a platform to celebrate the wide ranging and excellent talent across the community, so that residents and visitors can engage with high-quality arts experiences; acknowledges that this regeneration has been made possible with the support from Creative Scotland, which awarded multi-year funding to continue to bring in the new generation, along with other sponsors, Holywood Trust, Dumfries and Galloway Council, William Grant Foundation, ANCBC, The People’s Project, D&G Developing the Young Workforce, Alba Printers, Dumfries and Galloway Life, Alive Radio, Youngstart – The National Lottery Community Fund and D&G What’s Going On, and wishes ArtsD&G all the best in its future programmes, events and performances.
