The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that three studies involving the University of Aberdeen have received funding from Scotland Beyond Net Zero to support Scotland’s drive to net zero; notes that the first project is Geo-ML, which seeks to develop an advanced machine learning approach for gathering data about seabeds for offshore wind installations; understands that the second project, Monitoring Peatland Restoration with Novel Geophysical Methods, will seek to develop new imaging methods for use in peat restoration; further understands that the third project, Unpacking the Tourism-Transport Nexus in Sustainability Transitions, will explore how tourism can reduce its reliance on unsustainable transport options; believes that these projects will play an important part in helping Scotland’s journey to net zero in energy, natural systems and transport; hopes that the research is fruitful, and wishes all those involved in the projects all the very best with their endeavours.
