Orkney Kickboxer, Amy Golder, Wins Four Medals at Kickboxing Open World Championships
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Orkney kickboxer, Amy Golder, on winning four medals at the Kickboxing Open World Championships, which took place in Barnsley, Yorkshire on 3 August 2025; understands that Amy won three gold medals and one silver in the 55kg, 60kg, 65kg and open weight categories; further understands that Amy competed and won against competitors from the USA, England and Wales; acknowledges that Amy’s success at this competition is just the latest in a long line of such successes at an international level, having been named world champion 49 times; understands that Amy first took up kickboxing after a visit to her school by a local kickboxing sensei as a child, and now is able to visit schools in Orkney to share her love for the sport with young people as head kickboxing instructor and coach; welcomes Amy’s commitment to passing on her skills and passion for kickboxing, and wishes Amy continued success in her future kickboxing career.
