Routes to Work South Celebrate 20th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Routes to Works South, which is based in Cambuslang,on its 20th anniversary; notes that the charity provides individually-tailoredprogrammes to unemployed South Lanarkshire residents to support them intofurther education, training and employment; understands that, each year, thecharity provides training for over 500 people and supports up to 1,000 peopleinto employment; notes that Routes To Work South offer programmes such asMaking it Work for Parents, which is designed to overcome barriers to work,build confidence and progress towards sustainable employment, What I Need inLife to support people facing multiple and complex barriers, and Gateway toEmployment, which focuses on building job search skills and connecting peopleto employers and opportunities; understands that it has recently established aweekly Community Health Hub with local health, social care and wellbeingpartners to better link people into essential services to access resourcessupport; believes that, over the past two decades, Routes to Work South has hadan immensely positive impact on its clients, including with their health andwellbeing, and, through getting people into work, has bolstered the localeconomy and benefitted local communities; notes that the charity is hosting twocommunity-based events to celebrate its anniversary and its fantastic workwithin local communities, and wishes Routes to Works South every success forthe future.
