Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations and the Scottish Government Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (ACVO) is currently welcoming Level 2 Expression of Interest submissions for the Scottish Government’s Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults, with Level 1 applications open on 1 September 2025; notes that the Scottish Government fund, which is in its fifth year, supports community-based initiatives, both new and existing, which promote and improve mental health and wellbeing by addressing social isolation, loneliness, suicide prevention and tackling poverty and inequality; understands that since the launch of the fund in 2021, ACVO has distributed over £2.5 million of grant funding across Aberdeen, which have supported 297 community-based initiatives promoting and improving mental health and wellbeing across the city; further understands that this year, ACVO will manage the distribution of £554,377 from the fund; believes that this funding has helped drive a shift across mental health to ensure a focus on prevention and early intervention, and wishes the best of luck to all those making applications to the fund.
