CCG (Scotland) Ltd, Investing in Glasgow’s Young Talent

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates CCG (Scotland) Ltd on welcoming 15 new apprentices across its group of companies for 2025, the highest intake in recent years and a five-person increase on 2024, reinforcing the company’s commitment to youth employment, skills development and industry diversification in Glasgow; notes that the apprentices will undertake a four-year programme across disciplines including joinery, bricklaying, electrical and heating engineering; recognises the work of CCG in providing young people aged 16 and above with opportunities to experience office or site environments through school and charity partnerships, enabling them to explore career paths in the construction sector; acknowledges that CCG created 75 work placement opportunities in 2024 and has delivered 34 so far in 2025, giving young people practical, hands-on experience; recognises the role of CCG in addressing skills shortages and supporting the sustainability of the construction industry in Glasgow, including encouraging women into skilled and senior roles, with women currently representing 10% of the workforce, and acknowledges the dedication of staff, managers and mentors who enable young people to develop meaningful, lasting careers and contribute to Glasgow’s local economy.
