Glasgow Hospice Empowers Young Adults Living with Life-limiting Illnesses

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice (PPWH) in Glasgow on its dedication to empowering young adults living with life-limiting illnesses through its specialist care and innovative support services; notes that the hospice supports over 1,200 people aged 16 and over each year, providing free palliative care for those living with cancer, heart failure, lung disease and neurological conditions; recognises the impact of the PPWH’s young adult service, which helps young people navigate their care with confidence, supporting their physical needs while building emotional strength and social connections; acknowledges that this service offers a monthly clinic led by doctors and nurses for symptom management and holistic care, and a weekly hub providing sensory sessions, creative therapies, music and social outings; notes the important role of the creative art service and family support and rehabilitation teams in enabling young adults and their families to gain confidence, express themselves and access practical and emotional support; recognises the recent £1,000 donation from the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust, following a previous 2024 donation supporting the creative art service, and acknowledges the dedication of staff, volunteers and donors who allow the hospice to continue empowering young adults and enriching the lives of their families during some of the most challenging times they face.
