A Hopeful New Chapter for Golden Eagles in Southern Scotland

That the Parliament celebrates the successful fledging of the first young golden eagle as part of efforts to restore the species in southern Scotland; notes that the eaglet, named Princeling, is the offspring of Emma, a relocated eagle from the Highlands, named in memory of the late equality campaigner, Emma Ritch, and Keith, an eagle from Galloway; welcomes the increase in the golden eagle population in the South Scotland region from just three breeding pairs to more than 50; commends the work of the charity, Restoring Upland Nature (RUN), in leading this achievement, and believes that this success offers new hope for Scotland’s natural heritage and future generations.
