Celebrating Summerhill Community Centre’s Bike Reuse and Youth Cycling Support

The motion

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the outstanding work of Summerhill Community Centre in Dumfries in promoting active travel, sustainability and youth engagement through its bike reuse and cycling support programmes; notes that the centre teaches young people how to ride safely and confidently, provides donated bikes to children and young people who do not have access to their own and runs a community bike club that organises regular group rides; commends the centre’s commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and environmental responsibility, and congratulates all staff, volunteers and supporters involved in making this initiative a success for the community.
