Aberdeen Pupil Wins Young Writers UK Competition

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Aberdeen pupil, Aidan Ahmat, who recently won an award at the Young Writers UK competition for his short story, My Adventure in a Magical Rainforest; notes that Aidan first started writing his short story during the Easter holidays as a way to earn some pocket money; understands that Aidan has had to overcome numerous challenges, such as mobility issues and speech and language delays; notes that Aidan’s short story was one of only five winning entries selected to be published in a book called Before the Magic Map, which will showcase the work of young writers across the country, with his work also permanently being archived in the British Library; commends Aidan for his efforts, and wishes him all the best for future writing projects.
