Grampian SeaShed Awarded £9,750 from the National Lottery Community Fund
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Grampian SeaShed on receiving a £9,750 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that this award will allow the group to deliver fortnightly social events for retired seafarers that act as an opportunity to strengthen social connections and to reduce isolation; notes that Grampian SeaShed, which was founded in 2017 by the former port chaplain, Howard Drysdale, aims to reduce loneliness, share stories and build friendships after a life at sea, with the group meeting on a bi-weekly basis at King’s Church in the Bridge of Don area of the Aberdeen Donside constituency; commends the incredible work carried out by Grampian SeaShed, and wishes it all the best for the future.
