Glasgow Council on Alcohol, Inspiring City Awards 2025 Winner

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Council on Alcohol, which was the winner of the 850 Legacy Award at the Inspiring City Awards 2025, held to mark Glasgow’s 850th anniversary; understands that the organisation, formed in 1965, has transformed the lives of thousands of Glaswegians seeking help with alcohol-related issues; recognises what it sees as its pioneering role in the prevention, education and treatment of alcohol misuse, and the dedication of its staff and volunteers who work tirelessly across the city; acknowledges the organisation’s positive influence on families, communities and public health, and commends Glasgow Council on Alcohol for exemplifying innovation, ambition and social impact in the city, setting a standard for care and community engagement for decades.
