Govan Community Project, Inspiring City Awards 2025 Winner

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Govan Community Project, which was the winner of the Community Inclusion Award at the Inspiring City Awards 2025, in recognition of its outstanding work supporting refugees and asylum seekers across Glasgow; notes its provision of advice, advocacy, food projects, homework clubs, friendship groups and English language classes and its aim of ensuring inclusion, dignity and opportunity for all; recognises the commitment of staff, volunteers and community partners in fostering integration, education and social cohesion; appreciates what it sees as the organisation’s significant contribution to building a welcoming and inclusive Glasgow, and commends Govan Community Project for what it sees as its embodying of the city’s values of equality, solidarity and community spirit to make a tangible difference in the lives of thousands.
