The motion

That the Parliament recognises Didasko Education’s contribution to financial education through its Leavers' Money Skills programme, which aims to improve awareness of budgeting, student loans and debt among S5 and S6 pupils across the Borders, the Lothians and Edinburgh; praises Leavers' Money Skills for delivering these classes free of charge to schools; notes that 247 sessions have been delivered in 48 schools, reaching over 3,600 pupils; acknowledges the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from pupils and staff, with surveys showing an increase in pupils who felt very confident about managing their money from 10.7% to 44%; understands that financial education is crucial for young people, who deserve to be equipped with the skills to manage their money effectively, and urges the Scottish Government to reflect on the successes of Didasko Education’s programmes such as Leavers' Money Skills, Future Asset and the Library of Mistakes, and provide stronger financial education across Scotland to prepare young people for adult life.
