Improving the Cancer Journey Launches in Ayrshire
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Ayrshire-wide service, Improving theCancer Journey; understands that the service is a partnership between theScottish Government and Macmillan Cancer Support with East, South and NorthAyrshire’s health and social care partnerships and NHS Ayrshire and Arran;recognises that the £1.1 million service will support cancer patients and theirfamilies in Ayrshire and Arran by providing emotional and wellbeing assistance;notes that the initiative is already in place in other parts of Scotland; understandsthat approximately 2,621 people are diagnosed with cancer in Ayrshire and Arraneach year, and believes that this service has the potential to make a positivedifference for those affected by cancer.
