Run Balmoral’s Support for River Dee Conservation

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Run Balmoral on what it sees as its generous support of the River Dee Trust’s One Million Trees campaign; welcomes the decision made to replace event t-shirts with a donation of over £5,000 towards native tree planting; expresses sincere thanks to all the runners whose participation made this contribution possible; believes that the trees planted will protect endangered species, such as Atlantic salmon and freshwater pearl mussels; further believes that this will bring added ecological benefits, such as stabilised riverbanks and healthier river channels, and celebrates the positive impact it considers that this contribution will have on the area's conservation efforts and the Deeside community.
