The motion

That the Parliament warmly congratulates Held in Our Hearts and its supporters on completing the Edinburgh Kiltwalk on 14 September 2025; understands that the charity, which supports bereaved families after pregnancy, baby or infant loss, was supported by 37 walkers, including bereaved parents and staff; believes that their invaluable efforts and impact in meaningfully supporting families were reflected in the honour of CEO Nicola Welsh being asked to speak at the beginning of the event; commends their fundraising efforts, which raised over £19,000, including a £5,000 surprise “happiest minute” donation from the Hunter Foundation; recognises that bereaved families face a profoundly difficult journey after pregnancy, baby or infant loss, and are often uncertain how to take steps forward after such devastation; believes that the thousands of steps taken at the Kiltwalk reflect this journey, and that the sea of colours during the day symbolised hope; further believes that, with the compassionate support of Held in Our Hearts, more families may one day see colour again; commends and thanks Nicola and all those involved with Held in Our Hearts for ensuring families never feel alone on this journey, and wishes them every success in their future endeavours.
