Commending the NHS Dumfries and Galloway Resuscitation Team

The motion

That the Parliament commends what it sees as the outstanding work of the resuscitation training team at NHS Dumfries and Galloway on its members' recent efforts to improve public awareness and training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); recognises, that during the national initiative, Restart a Heart, the team successfully trained 670 members of the public across the region, exceeding the target of 500 participants; acknowledges the visit by James Cant, the Chief Executive of the Resuscitation Council UK, who, it understands, praised the team’s dedication and impact and commended the team for being an exemplary service in Scotland; considers CPR training to be important in improving survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, and congratulates all in the NHS Dumfries and Galloway resuscitation training team for their leadership in promoting lifesaving skills and community engagement.
