Scottish Book Trust Wins American Library of Congress Literacy Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Book Trust on being named a Successful PracticesHonoree by the American Library of Congress for its Bookbug Programme and ReadWrite Count book gifting; understands that it is one of the fewinternational award winners, and recognises what it sees as the importanceof this work in increasing accessibility to reading materials, encouragingScotland’s children and young people to read and, in turn, improving theirdevelopment and language skills.
