Milton Food Hub Awarded Funding to Strengthen Local Services
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Milton Food Hub and Community Garden in Glasgow on being awarded £157,635 from the Scottish Land Fund; notes that the group will use this funding to purchase St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Milton from a private seller and transform it into a vibrant and flexible community hub; further notes that the North Glasgow Community Food Initiative, which has been operating from the asset for 15 years, will continue to deliver its services, including a people’s fridge, community café and space for local groups and activities; recognises the Scottish Land Fund for supporting rural and urban communities to become more resilient and sustainable through the ownership and management of land and land assets, and wishes Milton Food Hub and Community Garden every success in creating a space that brings people together and strengthens local services.
