Julie McCarthy Completes Walk of Hope
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Julie McCarthy for completing the Walk of Hope at Strathclyde Country Park; notes that Julie, who worked as a primary school teacher in Motherwell, was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in 2023; commends Julie on completing the Walk of Hope to raise vital funds for research into finding a cure for the disease; understands that over 150 individuals dressed in pink took part in the 5km walk through Strathclyde Country Park, raising £19,000 for the Brain Tumour Research charity to fund research at the Scottish Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence, and commends all who participated in the walk to raise crucial funds for cancer research.
