Celebrating Annan Day Centre's 20th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament commends Annan Day Centre on its 20th anniversary and praises the dedicated team of staff, led by Emma Irving, and volunteers including chairman, Donald Irving, for their two decades of service to the local community; recognises that, in 2009, the day centre had 32 members, and that membership now exceeds 230, with the organisation looking towards long-term sustainability through Annan Day Centre and Care4You (D&G) Ltd, a new affiliated social care service; notes the important work being done to develop a new community day centre building, and recognises the support from organisations, including the National Lottery, the South of Scotland Social Enterprise Programme, the Dumfries and Galloway Council CLERF Fund, the Bank of Scotland Foundation and a number of generous local sponsors.
