National Hate Crime Awareness Week 2025

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes National Hate Crime Awareness Week 2025, which takes place from 11 to 18 October; believes that the week provides an important opportunity to stand together against hatred, prejudice and discrimination in all their forms; notes that the 2025 UK-wide campaign is based on the principle of "H.O.P.E.", which stands for Hate crime awareness, Operational responses, Prevention, and community Engagement; commends the work of community groups, third sector organisations and local authorities across Scotland, which continue to challenge hatred and promote safety, equality and inclusion; acknowledges that many individuals and communities continue to experience hate crime and feel unsafe, and reaffirms its commitment to tackling hate crime, supporting victims and building a Scotland in which everyone can live free from fear and prejudice.
