Celebrating Falkirk Graduates of the Healthcare Academy and Project SEARCH
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates the achievements of students from the Falkirk East constituency graduating from the Healthcare Academy and Project SEARCH in October 2025; recognises that the 18-week Healthcare Academy programme is a new pilot scheme run by Falkirk Council in partnership with NHS Forth Valley and the training provider, Positive Qualities; further recognises that the scheme is designed to prepare young people for healthcare careers through delivering a variety of learning and practical experiences, including classroom lessons, SQA qualifications, NHS induction, volunteering roles and ward placements; acknowledges that Project SEARCH is a national programme, which supports young people with additional needs to transition from education to paid employment by providing work placements, coaching and ongoing support; further acknowledges that, in Falkirk, the programme is run by Falkirk Council in partnership with NHS Forth Valley and SERCO; notes that many graduates of both programmes have subsequently gone on to secure jobs or Modern Apprenticeships; congratulates the students on their achievements, and wishes them every success in their future careers.
