Congratulating Antony Martin on Being Named Judo Scotland Disability Coach of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Antony Martin, a dedicated coach and member of Hamilton Judo Club Inclusion, on being awarded Judo Scotland’s Disability Coach of the Year; notes that Antony was honoured in the Judo Scotland Community Awards for his exceptional commitment to making judo accessible for individuals with disabilities and additional support needs (ASN); understands that Antony, a Level 2 coach, leads both junior and senior ASN sessions, fostering a positive, inclusive, and adaptive environment for all judoka; believes that his patient and empathetic approach helps break down social barriers, builds confidence, and ensures that every person can thrive and achieve their full potential through physical activity; considers that his coaching journey demonstrates how dedication and community spirit can positively impact the lives of local families and young people in Hamilton and wider Lanarkshire, and commends Antony Martin as an outstanding ambassador for disability sport and judo in Scotland.
