Worthwhile Wardrobe: Glasgow Hospice Leads on Sustainable Fashion

That the Parliament congratulates the launch of what it sees as the innovative Worthwhile Wardrobe initiative by The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow, in partnership with the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow; recognises that the initiative seeks to tackle the environmental impact of textile waste by promoting a circular approach to fashion, with donated high-end garments being resold, re-donated and reused, helping to reduce the estimated 200,000 tonnes of textile discarded each year in the UK; acknowledges the contribution of Professor Deirdre Shaw, Olga Cieslak and Kat Duffy from the Adam Smith Business School, whose expertise in consumer ethics and sustainability has helped to shape this forward-thinking project; further acknowledges the leadership of Angela Renton, retail operations manager at the hospice, and the wider hospice team for their commitment to sustainable retail practices that also raise vital funds for hospice care, and congratulates The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice and the University of Glasgow on their creative partnership, which, it believes, not only supports patients and families but also inspires a more ethical and environmentally conscious approach to fashion.
