That the Parliament understands that Pauline Ellison recently left the ScottishPartnership for Palliative Care (SPPC) after 22 years of service; furtherunderstands that Pauline dealt with all the administration and organisation ofthe Cross Party Group (CPG) on Palliative Care on behalf of the SPPC since theCPG was established; believes that for 22 years, Pauline has been the bedrockupon which so much of the SPPC’s work and achievements have stood, whether itwas managing the production of SPPC influential reports, organisingpractitioners across Scotland to come together to solve problems and planimprovements, and running posters and exhibitions at conference to share goodpractice and so much more; recognises that Pauline brought rigorousorganisation, meticulous attention to detail and kindness to all her work;believes that Pauline has, quietly and behind the scenes, made a significantcontribution to improving the care of people dealing with serious illness, dying and bereavement; notes the view of SPPC colleagues that Pauline has beena calm and supportive presence, who will be missed by those in the palliativecare sector, and wishes Pauline all the very best for the future.
