Recognition of GoFibre as One of Scotland’s Fastest-growing Businesses
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates GoFibre on being recognised as one of the 50 fastest-growing businesses in Scotland by the UK Fast Growth Index for 2025; notes that the index identifies the fastest-growing companies across the UK, and that GoFibre’s inclusion highlights its significant impact on the market and its capacity for growth and innovation; recognises that, while fast-growth firms represent a small fraction of all businesses, they make a disproportionately large contribution to job creation and economic prosperity, and are often at the forefront of innovation in their respective industries; acknowledges that GoFibre was founded in the Scottish Borders in 2017 and is now headquartered in Edinburgh, with a network of over 123,000 premises ready to connect; welcomes the company’s continued success, including attracting major investment from the Scottish National Investment Bank and winning two Project Gigabit contracts in Scotland, with the first covering the Scottish Borders and East Lothian, and the second in north east Scotland, alongside becoming the first company in the UK to complete a Project Gigabit contract, in north Northumberland, and congratulates GoFibre on being named High Growth Business of the Year at the Scottish Borders Business Excellence Awards, and Scottish Broadband Provider of the Year by Broadband Genie in 2025.
