The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Cabrach Trust, which proudly launched The Cabrach Tapestry project in February 2025; understands that this project has captured the hearts, minds and imaginations of many who became involved with this remarkable initiative to stitch the rich culture, history, and heritage of The Cabrach into seven large tapestry panels; notes that what began as a bold idea, quickly became a movement of creativity and connection as many people wished to contribute and provide a stich; understands that the project grew into something far greater than fabric and thread, bringing together seasoned experts but also many people who were new to embroidery; acknowledges that over 40 dedicated stitchers have been involved in this project, with well over 1,000 people contributing “a stitch or two”; notes that the panels have been displayed in schools, libraries, and community spaces, telling the story of this rural and remote community; congratulates everyone involved in this project, which has brought energy, conversation, and enthusiasm to The Cabrach, a place, it understands, long marked by depopulation and quiet decline, and recognises that stitch by stitch, friendships have been forged, stories have been shared, and a buzz has returned to this remarkable rural community, with the completed work now displayed in the North Steading of the Cabrach Distillery.
