Peterhead Area Community Trust Named Most Enterprising Community 2025

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Peterhead Area Community Trust (PACT) on being named Most Enterprising Community at the 2025 Scotland Loves Local Awards; recognises that this national accolade celebrates what it sees as PACT’s remarkable volunteer-led transformation of Victoria Park in Peterhead, turning it into a vibrant, inclusive public space that supports social enterprise, improves wellbeing and contributes to reducing crime; commends PACT’s community-led approach, engaging local residents to shape the park’s redevelopment and ensuring that it provides accessible leisure and sports facilities for all; acknowledges that PACT’s work is supported by both the Scottish Government and Aberdeenshire Council as a model of grassroots regeneration, reducing poverty and tackling isolation while instilling pride in the local community; pays tribute to everyone involved for their dedication, time and vision in delivering lasting change for Peterhead, and celebrates Scotland’s Towns Partnership and the Scotland Loves Local movement for championing the creativity, enterprise and resilience of local communities like Peterhead.
