Billington's of Lenzie Named Scottish Family Business of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Billington’s of Lenzie on being named Scottish Family Business of the Year (micro) at The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards 2025, in association with Business Gateway; understands that the prestigious award was presented to the local, family-run artisan deli, café and bakery at a special ceremony in Glasgow on 26 November 2025; recognises that the annual awards specifically celebrate the achievements and dynamism of family-run businesses in Scotland; notes that Billington’s triumphed in the micro category for a family business headquartered in Scotland with 10 employees or fewer, operating in any sector of the economy, which has enjoyed outstanding success; commends Billington’s, which has been serving the local community since 2012, for its continuing standards of excellence, and is grateful for independent businesses in Strathkelvin and Bearsden, and beyond, for the significant positive impact that they have on their communities, contributing both economically and socially.
