Congratulations and Thanks to Fubar News

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Fubar News in Aberdeen on its coverage over the severe winter period across the north east of Scotland in January 2026; believes that its social media posts, including weather updates, traffic alerts and reports on school closures, have been a great help to many people in their efforts to navigate the challenging conditions brought on by days of heavy snowfall; further believes that the north east is suffering its harshest winter since 2010’s "big freeze", which was itself the worst winter in almost 50 years; thanks Fubar News for raising awareness of the fantastic job being done by those keeping public services going under these harsh conditions, especially those helping clear roads and pavements when conditions allow, and hopes that things can get back to normal as soon as possible.
