Celebrating the Cherry Tree Pub’s Fundraising Success for Beatson Cancer UK and Bowel Research UK
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Cherry Tree pub in Wishaw on continuing its impressive fundraising efforts with a further £5,450 raised this winter for two vital charities, Beatson Cancer UK and Bowel Research UK; notes that the fundraising event included a full day of child-friendly entertainment followed by an evening event for adults; recognises that the funds raised have been split equally between the two charities; notes that since taking over the Cherry Tree four years ago, Helen Paterson, with the support of generous regulars, local businesses and friends, has helped to raise a total of £30,000 for a range of local charities, and commends everyone involved for their generosity, community spirit and commitment to supporting important causes.
