Welcoming the University of Aberdeen’s Mumbai Campus
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that the University of Aberdeen is establishing a new campus in India in August 2026; notes that teaching at the campus, which is based in Mumbai, will begin in September, focusing initially on computing and data science, artificial intelligence, and management programmes, aligned with India’s National Education Policy 2020; understands that the new campus underpins the University of Aberdeen’s commitment to India and its vision of fostering world-class education, cutting-edge research and transformative innovation in collaboration with Indian institutions; further understands that a follow-up phase will see the University aim to establish a research and innovation office on the new campus to expand research collaborations and industry partnerships in critical areas such as artificial intelligence, energy and life sciences; hopes that this partnership leads to exciting developments for the University, and wishes those involved in making the venture a success all the very best in their endeavours.
