Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the 18 community nurses from across Scotland who completed the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland’s (QNIS) 9-month development programme in 2025; commends NHS Tayside Team Leader, Elaine Whelan, who was awarded the title, Queen’s Nurse; understands that QNIS is a Scottish charity that works with community nurses and midwives to develop their professional skills so they can deliver outstanding patient care; acknowledges that the programme consists of residential and online workshops and individual coaching sessions that require participants to choose an issue for development that will have a significant impact on those they care for, and notes that this work focuses on promoting equity and inclusion.
