HM Clyde Naval Base Commodore Sharon Malkin Appointed a CBE in The King's New Year Honours List
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Commodore Sharon Malkin CBE ADC, the Commander of HM Naval Base (HMNB) Clyde, on being appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in The King's New Year Honours list; recognises her distinguished service to the Royal Navy as its most senior ranking female engineer and her leadership in supporting the operational capability of HMNB Clyde; acknowledges her contribution to the Clyde Transformation Programme and her role in strengthening the base’s long-term strategic importance; commends her commitment to the professional development of women in the armed forces and her work in promoting inclusive leadership; wishes Sharon continued success in her service to defence and to the communities of Argyll and Bute, and further wishes her the very best for her pending retirement after 32 years of service, which is scheduled to take place in August 2026.
