Grangemouth Runner Amy Meichan Receives Awards for Strathcarron Hospice 10k Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Grangemouth High School student Amy Meichan on receiving three awards following her participation in the annual Strathcarron Hospice 10k charity running event in October 2025; notes that more than 350 runners took part in the event, raising over £71,500 for the charity; recognises that Amy was awarded the Paul Canavan Memorial Cup, an award presented to the fastest runner who is 15 or 16 years old; further recognises that the Paul Canavan Memorial Cup is an award donated by former politician Dennis Canavan in memory of his son, who passed away in 1989 at the age of 16; acknowledges that Amy was also awarded her school's shield for being the fastest school-age athlete to take part, as well as the captain's challenge certificate for December 2025; congratulates Amy again on her outstanding achievements, and wishes her every success in her future endeavours.
