Happy Faces Nursery and After School Club Awarded Excellent Grading by Care Inspectorate

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Happy Faces Nursery and After School Club, a family-owned childcare service in Dumfries in the South Scotland region, on becoming the first childcare service in the region to be awarded an “Excellent” grading under the Care Inspectorate’s new framework; notes that this prestigious achievement reflects outstanding leadership in staff resources, strong personal planning, and collaborative relationships with families, ensuring individualised support for every child; commends the nursery’s emphasis on nurturing care, robust planning, and consistently high-quality learning experiences; recognises the dedication of founder and lead practitioner, Lesley Woodhouse, and her team in delivering sector-leading standards; thanks the families and community for their support in helping Happy Faces achieve this exceptional milestone, and wishes all at the nursery continued success for the future.
