Aberdeen Cruises Ahead
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that cruise calls to Aberdeen have risen by 12% in 2026; notes that 73 vessels are scheduled to dock at the Port of Aberdeen over the year, numbering up to 57,000 guests, including the 294m Norwegian Star on 15 July, the longest ship to berth in Aberdeen, with 2,348 guests onboard; understands that the Port of Aberdeen aims to have 100 calls per year by 2028, in an effort to firmly embed the north east of Scotland on the map for cruise tourism; believes that cruise ships have played an increasingly important role in the Aberdeen economy in recent years, bringing in many visitors for local businesses, and hopes that everyone who visits Aberdeen on a cruise ship this year has a wonderful time exploring the best of what the north east of Scotland has to offer.
