The Yard Glasgow Gains Wheelchair-accessible Benches Thanks to Charitable Trust

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Yard Glasgow on the opening of its new adventure play centre at Linn Park; welcomes the £2,070 donation from the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust to fund three wheelchair-accessible picnic benches; understands that The Yard has created safe, inclusive spaces for disabled children and young people since 1986, supporting thousands of children and families across Scotland; recognises that the Glasgow centre addresses a significant service gap, providing year-round play sessions, youth clubs and early-years programmes for children with disabilities; notes that the accessible benches will enable wheelchair-using children to sit, play and socialise alongside their peers, promoting barrier-free play, inclusion and social interaction, and acknowledges the ongoing contribution of organisations such as The Yard and its supporters in enhancing community wellbeing, reducing isolation and providing vital opportunities for disabled children and young people to enjoy play and learning.
