The National Robotarium, 2025 Achievements

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the National Robotarium on its achievements in 2025;considers that it is a world-leading centre for robotics and AI; notes that itwas funded as part of the £1.3 billion Edinburgh and South-East Scotland CityRegion Deal; believes that its work continues to position Scotland at theforefront of the global robotics revolution; welcomes the National Robotarium’sachievements over the past year; understands that these include publishing itspolicy paper, Making Scotland a World Leader in Robotics, which sets out a clear vision for robotics adoption across industry and public services, launching theScottish Robotics Adoption Fund and RAS Cluster Pilot, which are backed by theScottish Government, helping businesses across Scotland move from roboticsaspiration to real-world implementation, advancing healthcare robotics throughassistive technology deployments in residential care, rehabilitation roboticsresearch and projects that have been highlighted by the World Economic Forum astransforming healthcare delivery and acknowledges it supporting resident andspinout companies to create over 60 jobs and attract more than £6 million infunding, investment and commercial income anchored in Scotland; recognises thatit has engaged over 30,000 people through schools, competitions and eventssince its launch; thanks all whose vision and dedication continue to drive theNational Robotarium forward, and looks forward to what it believes will be itscontinued success as a centre of global excellence for responsible,people-centred robotics and AI.
