The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Haddington Community Fire Station on the success of its May 2026 open day, which welcomed hundreds of members of the public and raised more than £1,000 in support of firefighters affected by terminal illness; notes that the event provided a valuable opportunity for the community to engage with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and gain a better understanding of the vital work undertaken by firefighters; recognises the dramatic rescue demonstrations that were carried out on the day, including simulated rescues from height, smoke-filled environments and road traffic collisions, showcasing the exceptional skill, professionalism and teamwork of crews; commends all personnel and volunteers involved for their dedication, both in keeping communities safe and in supporting colleagues in times of need, and thanks all those who attended, contributed and supported the event for helping to strengthen community spirit in Haddington and across East Lothian.
