The motion

That the Parliament notes that ME Awareness Week ran from 11 to 17 May 2026 and aimed to raise awareness of the need for investment in care and support for people with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME); welcomes the recurrent funding of £4.5 million in the 2025-26 Scottish Budget to fund specialist support for long COVID, ME and similar conditions; notes the view that it is important to ensure that the support and services committed should adhere to the 2021 NICE guideline for ME and chronicfatigue syndrome, which includes key recommendations relating to diagnosis, management and specific care for those with severe ME, as well as for children and young people with the condition; further notes the view that the involvement of patients and third sector organisations across Scotland in the design and delivery of new services supported by this new funding is essential, and commends the #MEAction Scotland volunteers for their continued efforts in campaigning for better ME services.
