Congratulating Bombay Bar and Grill on Success at the Scottish Curry Awards 2026

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Bombay Bar and Grill in Prestonpans on being named Best New Business at the Scottish Curry Awards 2026; notes that the award was presented at the 18th annual ceremony, held in Glasgow; recognises that the restaurant, which is located on Prestonpans High Street, opened in August 2025 and has already achieved significant success; notes the leadership of owner Michael Singh, Rahat Chaudry and head chef Mr Mondal, as well as the dedication of the wider team; acknowledges the strong representation of the local hospitality sector, with the business' sister restaurant Bombay Lounge also receiving recognition at the awards; commends the hard work, innovation and community focus demonstrated by all involved, including their efforts to preserve the historic character of the premises while creating a thriving new venue; recognises the importance of such successes for local economies and communities across East Lothian, and wishes the team every continued success for the future.
