East Lothian Coastal Towns Named Among the UK’s Best Seaside Locations
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the inclusion of East Lothian coastal towns in lists of the best seaside locations in the United Kingdom; welcomes the recognition of towns such as North Berwick and Dunbar for their outstanding natural beauty, vibrant communities and visitor appeal; notes that these locations are celebrated for their sweeping beaches, scenic harbours and strong local identities, attracting both residents and tourists alike; acknowledges the growing reputation of East Lothian’s coastline as a key destination for sustainable tourism and outdoor recreation; highlights the contribution that coastal towns make to local economies through hospitality, leisure and small businesses; believes that such recognition reflects ongoing community effort and pride in place, and commends residents, local organisations and businesses for continuing to showcase East Lothian as one of Scotland’s premier coastal destinations.
